Our Sierra Leone Story

The 10 year civil war of Sierra Leone left the Susu people group as well as orphans of the Modu Orphanage with more than just the emotional chaos of their lives to rebuild. Physically, their environment lays in ruins and they continue to work at recovering many years later. When Teko first visited he was able to see the effects firsthand. Where the war had not left countless children homeless and without families, it left villages without access to clean water, basic healthcare or even access to their common livelihood of farming.

 

Our on site partners, have identified clean water, healthcare, education and help in increased farming practices as the greatest needs. Several small projects are being undertaken to impact these areas such as sending boxes of medical supplies, getting benches and a chalkboard for Modu Orphanage and water filters for the Susu village. As a means to help with work as well as producing food, goats are also being sourced.

 

We have partnered with Pastor Samuel from the Assemblies of God Church in Lungi, Sierra Leone as well as Rev. Bai, owner of Modu Orphanage to bring these items to the Susu village in Sierra Leone.

 

Join us as we work to bring dignity and hope to the Susu people as well as the children of Modu Orphanage so that they can be affirmed in their identity.
